Digital rectal exam

A rectal exam is a diagnostic procedures used to examine the prostate. Based on the exam, the size of the prostate and consistency can be determined, and potential pain can be identified. If the exam reveals a very firm, this may indicate the progression of cancer, while pain indicates inflammation of the prostate.
