What is vaginal atrophy treatment
On average, menopause in women in Slovenian occurs around the age of 52. Two to five years after its onset, the first signs of estrogen deficiency appear with symptoms such as itching, sensitivity, dryness, and a burning sensation in the vagina. Problems become even more pronounced during intercourse, which can become painful and unpleasant. This can be attributed to reduced mucosal lubrication.

Alongside the above-described issues, women often report bladder-related problems as well as frequent and painful urination. Although a decline in oestrogen levels is the most common cause of vaginal dryness, similar issues may also result as a consequence of childbirth and breastfeeding, the surgical removal of ovaries, chemotherapy, taking antidepressants and certain antibiotics, smoking, sexual inactivity, and excessive use of intimate care soap. Oral contraceptive pills may also cause vaginal dryness. Vaginal atrophy is treated with laser therapy and requires 1 to 2 treatments.
