Željko Pleša, MD, general practitioner, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb in 1987 and successfully passed his professional examination in 1988. For three years, he worked at the Zaprešič Community Health Centre as an emergency physician, followed by six years at a school health service.

He successfully completed his family doctor specialisation with an examination in 2000 in Zagreb, then continued to work as a family doctor at the Zaprešič Community Health Centre. As part of his preventive work, he has worked as an expert contributor to the “Špigel” magazine, radio programmes on addiction prevention on Radio Zaprešič, worked as a family counsellor, collaborated with the Centre for Addictions of the University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče and the Sisters of Charity, and furthermore, conducted implemented a methadone maintenance treatment. In 2004, he attended and completed additional training in the field of densitometry (bone density measurement).
